A of Title 15 of the Code of Federal Regulations has been amended to add a new Part 6 which implements the provisions of Section III (f) (2) of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949, as amended (79 Stat.1127).This new Part 6 supersedes and replaces in its entirety the provision of Office of Management and Budget Circular A-86 entitled, "Standardization of data elements and codes in data systems", dated September 30, 1967 which was rescinded by the Director of the Office of Management and Budget on August 29, 1973.Part 6 provides policy and identifies responsibilities of executive branch departments and independent agencies for a government-wide program for the standardization of data elements and representations used in Federal automated data systems.This publication provides a copy of Part 6 and other documents relating to this amendment.
