Standard Model challenged again

Physics World · 2002

New measurements of the magnetic moment of the muon support the idea that the Standard Model of particle physics is incomplete. Researchers at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in the US have recorded a value for the muon's so-called anomalous g-factor that disagrees strongly with the value predicted by the Standard Model, suggesting the existence of as yet undiscovered particles.
