Computers and Improvisation

Computers can be both tools of improvisation, and provide the environment (with)in which improvising takes place. They are central to the concepts of virtual space, virtual reality and hypermedia. In this chapter, we will discuss some of the powers of these spaces and processes, some achieved and some as yet unfulfilled.
