Blind equalization

John G. Proakis, Chrysostomos L. Nikias · Proceedings of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering/Proceedings of SPIE · 1991

Blind equalization deals with the restoration of the input sequence given the output of a linear communication channel and statistical information about the input. A solution to this problem can be achieved by using nonlinear transformations or higher-order statistics of the output sequence. The purpose of this paper is to provide a review of existing adaptive blind equalization algorithms and point out their strengths and limitations.
