Revenues in the biometric sector will hit $13.8bn in 2015 predicts ABI Research. It believes the majority of revenues in most biometric recognition technologies stem from governmental entities. However, due to increased consumer acceptance of biometric modalities, consumer and enterprise segments are predicted to catch up with government spending in late 2017, becoming the dominant portion of the market.
