Firebird Server

Helen Borrie · Apress eBooks · 2004

The Firebird server is a program that runs on a host node in a network and listens for clients on a communication port. It serves requests from multiple clients to multiple databases simultaneously. Superserver is a multi-threaded process that starts a new thread for each attached client. In the Classic server model, a new process is started for each connection. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
