Embattled Yahoo accused of poor security and allowing snooping by intelligence agencies

Having discovered a breach of around 500 million account records, apparently committed in 2014, Yahoo is facing a hail of criticism for allegedly poor security practices and for allowing US intelligence agencies to access users' emails. This comes at a time when Yahoo is going through a difficult $4.8bn acquisition by Verizon.
