In this chapter you will learn about the physical split of the stage space, about the important location spots, as well as where and how the actor should position himself on the stage. The stage is our home, our working place, or pedestal and magic-we own all that and the audience does not! This is where the magic key is hidden-we master it! Dominating the stage is an obligatory skill to be learnt by anyone stepping on the stage in order to sing, dance, speak, off er bouquets or present an award. What is the stage? This is the space given to us to perform our art-in our case these are songs and their accompanying arts and artistic means. The stage has the “eff ect of the frame”—“all within it is clearly and distinctly visible as if under a magnifying glass” (M. Frish).
