Determining the Most Effective Countermeasures
Ira Winkler, Dr Tracy Celaya Brown · 2020
This chapter presents a strategy that is theoretically free of outside burdens and locked in business processes. The ideal situation is to study all of the individual user-initiated loss (UIL), determine the potential countermeasures for each of them, consolidate the countermeasure, see which countermeasures have the greatest overlap and the highest return on investment, and then choose the most effective countermeasures based upon available budget. In the software development field, there is the traditional software development life cycle with four phases: analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance. In the ideal world, in Left of Boom we will completely remove the opportunity for UIL, because we take the user out of the process by the point of Boom. In many cases, technology can remove the user from being in the position to create loss.
