New digital compass
Anonymous · Eos · 1977
The Brunton Company of Riverton, Wyoming, has developed a digital readout compass which should be available by July 1. The compass uses an electronic display for horizontal angle, is the 0°–360° type, and reads in ½° increments. This instrument is approximately the same size as conventional pocket transits and weighs about 280 grams. Electronic components and the compass itself are housed in a leather case which attaches to the user's belt. The instrument is easily adjusted for declination angle.
