Researchers predict biometrics to be key in rapid growth in e-identification

Within five years 90% of passport holders will be using e-passports that integrate a smart card IC chip, according to IMS Research's recent report ‘Electronic Government and Health Care ID Cards World 2011’. It expects that 2014 most e-passports will be issued with biometric data.
