Cooperative Spectrum Monitoring in Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Cognitive Radio Networks
Prabhat Thakur, Ghanshyam Kumar Singh · 2021
The spectrum mobility is an integral part of the cognitive cycle and spectrum monitoring (SM) is an important technique to detect the emergence of primary user simultaneous to the data transmission. A key implementation to manage the imperfections in SM is the cooperation among cognitive users (CUs). Therefore, to improve the performance of cognitive radio network (CRN) with imperfect SM, this chapter exploits the cooperation among CUs for the homogeneous as well as heterogeneous CRN environments. It presents the background about the Binomial and Poisson-Binomial distributions so that the models of homogeneous and heterogeneous CRN become easy to understand. The chapter describes the system model of proposed framework. It comprises performance analysis of the proposed system model and presents simulation results with their analysis. Finally, the chapter summarizes the work with future perspectives.”
