US banks attacked – but by whom?

Although responsibility for Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks on a number of US banks in September and December 2012 was claimed by a group calling itself the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters, there are now claims the attacks were actually the work of the Iranian Government.
