The advanced Res Socialis category of smart things with social relationship provides a new vision of Internet of Things (IoT), where they are able to: interact with other smart things with respect to ownership, co-work/location environment; crawl and discover required services in IoT world consisting of billions of smart things; and advertise themselves for the provisioning of associated services. Based on these facts, the enabling of social interaction of smart things in the IoT world gives rise to an emerging paradigm of promising Social IoT (SIoT). Depending on the nature of IoT application, the social structure of SIoT platform supports various types of relationships, for example: User–Thing Relationships and Thing–Thing Relationships. The generic SIoT architecture consists of three components, namely SIoT Server, SIoT gateway, and SocialThing. Similar to SIoT that is basically an incarnation of IoT, Social Internet of Vehicles is an incarnation of Internet of Vehicles.
