Computation offloading represents for edge computing a relevant challenge that aims at improving the utilization of end-devices with limited resources at the edge of the network. Code mobility is a computing paradigm that enables end-devices to offload computation tasks to edge servers and receive the results of their execution. The aim of this paper is to analyze, categorize analytically and statistically the methodologies which have been presented in the area of tasks offloading in edge computing based on the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. We aim at extracting a set of parameters, metrics and other variables to be used in new research that addresses simulation of tasks offloading strategies exploiting code mobility. The weaknesses and the strengths of each study is discussed as well as presenting some hints for addressing the simulation problem. We consider the possibility to reuse the existing results for designing and developing software components which support the simulation of computation offloading in edge computing.
