Apress eBooks · 2008
M icrosoft’s intention to release Windows Home Server was first announced on January 7, 2007 by Bill Gates at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. (For anyone who is interested, Microsoft referred to Windows Home Server as both Code Name Q and Quattro during its development. It was dubbed Quattro by the leader of the project, Charlie Kindel, because it was his fourth attempt at building a home server.) Soon after the announcement, Microsoft released a beta version to approved testers, and by early June 2007, over 60,000 people were te sting Windows Home Server worldwide. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
