The final article by Sturton et al. describes an idea called the FinalFilter.Despite the best efforts of designers to create secure designs, unforeseen inputs or events may cause the processor to perform actions that violate security. In this article, the authors describe how the use of simple invariants can be used to protect against such problems.Unlike static assertions that are removed after design time, the FinalFilter invariant controls access to protected assets at all times because they are fabricated into the hardware.
