Statistics can be used to reach any conclusion you want: The odds of getting in an accident are directly proportional to the time spent on the road. The time spent on the road is inversely proportional to the speed at which you drive. One-third of traffic accidents are caused by drunk drivers, while two-thirds are caused by drivers who are not drunk. Clearly, the odds of getting into a traffic accident are minimized by driving drunk at a high speed!
