Biometrics for children under scrutiny as persistence concerns investigated

The use of fingerprints biometrics for young children has raised concerns about persistence as the children grow and change. However research has found that fingerprint recognition of 0–4 year-old children ‘appears promising’. This comes as The Biometrics Institute has warned governments that extra care must be taken when government uses children's biometrics for border protection and other purposes.
