SummaryIn this chapter, I have outlined a process for writing a verification plan. This plan is the specification document for the verification process. It is used to define first-time success and to influence the design specification to include features that will facilitate verification. This chapter also defined how a system-level testcase is different from a unit-level testcase. Once the verification plan is written, a schedule for the verification can be created: you know how many testbenches must be written and how complex they are.
