British consumers welcome developing biometric tech in banking

Biometric Technology Today · 2016

Iris scanning technology has overtaken fingerprinting as the most popular biometric, with 60% of consumers saying they’d consider using it, compared to 33% in 2014, according to Intelligent Environments’ Future Password Index (FPI). The FPI 2016 also reveals that consumer demand for all biometric security measures has soared since 2014. The Visa research also revealed that consumers are nearly twice as likely to trust banks to store and keep their biometric information safe (60%) than they are to trust government agencies (33%).
