Methodologies of AI

In 1987, in Boston, an international symposium to address the fundamental issues of AI was jointly sponsored by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) AI Lab, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). Invited to the symposium were AI experts who had made remarkable contributions to AI development. In the proceedings, the participants elaborated on their own academic ideas and basic theories, discussed the ideological source of their theories, explained representative forms and basic models of their own theories and probed into the applicabilities and limitations.
