5 Software through Prestel: the Case of Inverkeithing High School
Oliver Boyd-Barrett, Peter Braham · 2013
The way in which Inverkeithing got involved with the projectl was somewhere above my level in the hierarchy, but I would assume that someone in the region either thought that we were quite &s;go ahead&s; with computers, or, more likely, that we were the closest school to Edinburgh and would therefore incur lowest phone bills! However, like many things, I knew nothing about Prestel, not even what it was, but was very keen to find out more. This aim has certainly been fulfilled, both for myself and for a lot of people in the school, both staff and pupils. We also quite soon realized that this was going to be a fruitful source of software for us, at a time when to a large extent we thought of software as something that we had to write ourselves.
