BERR: More work to do on security

Companies still have a lot of work to do to protect themselves and their customers' information, according to the 2008 Information Security Breaches Survey released by the Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. According to the survey, launched at the Infosecurity Europe exhibition, one in 10 websites that accept payment details still do not encrypt them (meaning that they are not compliant with the mandatory PCI standard). One in five spend less than 1% of their IT budget on information security, while half don't carry out any formal security risk assessment.
