The story on everyone's lips in April was the launch of the Hi-Tech Crime Unit in the UK. A group of highly trained police officers who understand the strictures of keeping digital evidence and investigating crime across national borders has been unleashed to tackle cybercrime . Nigel Jones who is involved in the HTCU spoke to a forum on The Threat from Within about the nature of the relationship between computers and crime. The major threats are posed by the computer as a launch pad for attack, and as a communications and storage device. He also spoke about his successes in policing as part of the Fraud Squad.
