It’s January, its cold, dark in the mornings and after spending a nice warm Christmas getting fatter and not checking our email every five seconds, everyone is feeling a bit dejected. Upon my arrival on 6 January, I find that Joe, my chief security officer is not around and there is deadly silence from the secretarial pool. Worse still there is an email from HR telling me to come immediately to the boardroom. I duly attend and find an ashen faced HR director who informs me that my CSO has gone to the great firewall in the sky, his immediate subordinate has quit, and someone hacked into the server last night.
