Evp.luation of Experimental PapersAs part of a continuing study for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, two v;ood pulp papers (Paper A and Paper SDP) were evaluated for possible use in printing currency. As technology progresses, the possibility exists that wood pulp papers may be as, or nearly as, durable as the present-day currency paper.A substantial savings in cost might result without compromising the circulation life of currency. As new papers which appear to have the character- istics essential to currency paper are developed, evaluations will be made to determine whether they are suitable for currency . 2 .
