Scrambling method using chaotic discrete‐time systems

Takaharu Innami, Toshimitsu Ushio · Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part III Fundamental Electronic Science) · 2000

Chaotic dynamic systems exhibit aperiodic and random behavior. This paper proposes the following method for generating a scrambling signal. For an n-bit information binary data sequence, 2n chaotic discrete-time dynamic systems are prepared. One of the dynamic systems is selected according to the information data. Then, all state values are sorted. Using an example, the correlation coefficient and the scrambling rate are examined, as indexes of performance evaluation for the proposed scrambling method. An improvement of the proposed method is presented to improve the evaluation index. ©1999 Scripta Technica, Electron Comm Jpn Pt 3, 83(1): 38–43, 2000
