HSDPA inside

With practically all operators having an established customer base for their data card services, it is expected that a version of the modem directly embedded into laptops will eventually substitute them. Already wireless embedded modems supporting HSDPA speeds of between 1.8 Mbit/s and 7.2 Mbit/s are being fitted into the latest notebook models. However, if shipments of embedded modules hope to equal those of data cards, several challenges need to be solved first. Among these are electromagnetic compatibility issues between radios and notebooks, and the problem of convincing prospective users to go wireless.
