InfoQ in review processes of scientific publications

Ron S. Kenett, Galit Shmueli · 2016

Reviewers play a critical role in the publication process, an important landmark in scientific research. Yet, in many journals, acceptance of scientific papers for publication relies on the reviewer's experience and good sense, with no clear guidelines. The lack of guidance increases uncertainty and variability in the usefulness of reviews. This chapter presents an approach based on the Information Quality (InfoQ) framework, providing guidelines for the review process of papers submitted for publication in scientific journals. The goal is to structure the review process without affecting the independent and objective perspective of reviewers.
