Mathematical models of fluid motion

RICHARD E. FITZPATRICK · 2017

This chapter sets forth the mathematical models that are commonly used to describe the equilibrium and dynamics of fluids. After first discussing the physical assumptions that underlie conventional fluid dynamics, the equations of fluid dynamics are derived from first principles. The properties of these equations are then examined in detail.
