The Framework for Algorithmic Processing

Jérôme Béranger · 2018

The use of personal digital data directly affecting the privacy of each individual means that moral dilemmas are posed about strategic choices on the subjects of algorithmic management and governance. Before establishing rules and an ethical framework on algorithms, it seems indispensable to provide an overview and specifications on the value of information depending on why, how and how far it is used. It is vital to give a moral personality to the new information and communications technology (NICT) by means of an algorithmic ethical conscience. The period of digital transition naturally brings a host of questions and uncertainties on the future of economy 4.0 based on big data, algorithmic systems and blockchains. The ethical evaluation of algorithmic processing will be broken down into two directions, on the one hand on data and its practices, and on the other hand on the algorithm and its uses.
