T h e CODASYL FORTRAN Data Base Committee Journal of Development Version 2.0 is now available through the Canadian federal government's E D P Standards Secretariat.This document summarizes a facility that allows the FORTRAN user to manipulate a data base.It describes, in detail, the syntax and semantics of a set of Data Manipulation Language ( D M L ) statements and sub-schema Data Description Language ( D D L ) statements intended to be in the spirit of FORTRAN.The Journal is compatible with the CODASYL Data Description Language and the CODASYL COBOL Journal of Development.A special task group X3 53.1 has been established to investigate the inclusion of Version 2.0 in the next ANSI standard.
