JU26WA computer program is proposed to calculate what happens when a high (up to 200 GeV) energy particle strikes a nucleus. The nucleus is first divided into a number of regions. To each region is assigned a density. From the densities and the known cross sections for nucleon reactions, the absorption coefficients are calculated. From the absorp tion coefficients the distribution function for collision sites is ob tained and an event is chosen by a sampling procedure.Meson production is included as a possible event. The developing cascade is followed in discrete time steps.Nuclear matter is conserved by reducing the den sity in a region which has contributed a particle to the cascade. This leads to a density imbalance which.isassumed to cause a flow of nuclear matter into the depleted region.
