We must occasionally take time out from doing our information systems security (InfoSec) jobs, and make sure we are actually on the right track. Sometimes in the midst of the constant crises, stress and pressure of the profession, we can’t see the wood for the trees, so to speak. Since it is the beginning of a new year, it is a good time to remind ourselves not only why InfoSec professionals are employed, but also of the basics of InfoSec itself.
