Computational systems and data analytics are powerful tools for the administration of criminal justice, from investigation to corrections. Computational forensics is a discipline for judging the reliability of computational conclusions so as to make efficient, effective, and just decisions from them. The forensic standards for evidence under US law offer a template that may be applied to the use of powerful computer systems and data analytics of large heterogeneous data sets to evaluate their appropriate and effective use under US law and traditions.
