WELDING ELECTRODES

Hugo W. Hiemke · Journal of the American Society of Naval Engineers · 1939

During the last decade the use of electric arc welding for fabrication of many forms of engineering structures has increased tremendously. This increased use of welding has been augmented by the development of covered welding electrodes which are capable of depositing weld metal as strong and ductile as the metals to be joined. The purpose of this article is to tabulate available information, and submit a certain amount of new test information. Also, the author classifies the various service requirements for welding electrodes.
