UPub Demo: Enabling Mobility Management for Publish/Subscribe Systems in the Edge

In the latest years, Internet of Things (IoT) has found applications in healthcare, surveillance, smart cities, digital displays, among others. Usually, the publish-subscribe (pub/sub) paradigm have been broadly adopted in these solutions due to their capability to provide data dissemination and collection in a loosely coupled network architecture. However, differently from pub/sub solutions designed for the Cloud, IoT applications have the additional requirement of mobility support. In general, the State of the Art on mobility management for IoT includes only approaches for the link and network layers. For mobility in pub/sub systems, solutions involve adding centralized entities or consider host-based protocols. This paper describes the procedures to implement and design a test bed environment for evaluation of UPub, a mobility management solution for the underlying pub/sub system in IoT applications.
