An Evaluation of Motivational Factors for Distributed Development Teams

For enabling better competitive advantages, Distributed Software Development (DSD) is a common approach for many organizations nowadays. But there are challenges in this model of work, and Team Motivation is an approach for dealing with its issues. This work has the objective of evaluate the eleven motivational factors for DSD proposed by Farias Junior et al. by the perspective of DSD professionals and researchers, using an online survey form. The results include the opinions of the participants on the motivational factors and our analysis on these findings. DSD professionals and researchers can benefit from this work by using the findings as a reference for adoption of these motivational factors in their development projects, or as a reference for future studies.
