Joint Vision 2020, set forth by the Department of Defense, places a number of non-trivial, challenging requirements on future systems: integration of data from distributed, dynamic, heterogeneous sources on the fly, and networks robust and fast enough to support secure realtime manipulation, fusion, and presentation of all this data.This technical note presents a few of the many programs, technologies, and research efforts that are addressing the challenges faced by future systems.
