Data privacy, training, and awareness and cybersecurity frameworks

This chapter reviews data privacy policies, assessment tools, and existing cybersecurity training and awareness policies, along with programs designed to train computer network users in various organizations. It discusses the common matrices security teams use to assess tools’ and policies’ effectiveness in achieving a more secure cyber infrastructure, in light of relevant scholarly research. In addition, this chapter explains the operationalization of additional data privacy and cyber training-related measures. Finally, it offers suitable research designs that will allow rigorous investigations of policy effectiveness in reducing data privacy and cybercrime risks.
