The Internet of Things (IoT), data security, and website security
Pierre-Luc Pomerleau, David Maimon · 2022
This chapter defines the Internet of Things (IoT), then reviews and assesses IoT risks and security tools. It also proposes operationalizing additional measures to deploy scientific research designs, allowing researchers and practitioners to increase the effectiveness of these tools in preventing IoT cyberattacks. Additionally, this chapter exposes the common tools and strategies employed in this context for data security, a crucial function that governmental and private organizations implement to protect employees and customers’ sensitive data and privacy rights. Next, it reviews and assesses some of the existing technologies used by organizations to protect their data and website security. Finally, it suggests additional measures, investigation tools, best practices, and valuable methods for cybersecurity practitioners.
