Translation memory systems

This chapter offers an overview of the Translation Memory (TM) tools that have revolutionized the work of translators over the last three decades. It outlines the history and the concept of these widely used translation tools and presents the most popular TM systems. The limitations of current commercial TM tools are discussed and the latest research towards the development of new generation TM programs is outlined.
