SCRUTINIZING LOCAL PERCEPTIONS OF COVID-19 AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF BARRIER MEASURES IN CAMEROON: A HUMAN RIGHTS ANATOMY

Covid-19 remains a major source of disruption and challenge facing thousands of Cameroonians and the world at large. This has greatly affected the pattern of livelihood in several communities across Cameroon. This paper scrutinizes local perceptions of Covid-19 and human rights violations associated to the enforcement of barrier measures in Cameroon. The study adopted a qualitative research style approach based on a rigorous analysis of data collected. Data for the study was collected from both primary and secondary sources. Based on its findings, the paper contends that Covid-19 pandemic as a health challenge was characterized by misconceptions and human rights violations in the implementation of its barrier measures in Cameroon.
