This paper discusses angular noise of a tracking radar for on-board uncoded and coded transponder of Satellite Launch Vehicles during transonic regime due to the formation of condensation around launch vehicle nose cone. In transonic regime, uncoded transponder tracking radars observe a large number of extra echo pulses in tracking gate for a short time, excess interrogation is experienced by on board Transponders which cause large signal dips in radar receiver systems, thereby, disturbing the angles of the tracking radars. This paper analyses angular noise suppression with coded transponder tracking radars during transonic regime.
