Offline Handwritten Word Recognition of Devanagari Script

As we know that, recognizing words manually from a large handwritten document is a tedious task and challenging as it has different styles and strokes between characters. So, a system is needed to recognize words written in Devanagari script from documents via digitization or image processing techniques. So, for classification of words from documents either online or offline, different methods have been surveyed till now, then a new system can be utilized in an efficient way. This paper presents comparative detailed study of various techniques and work done by researchers in context of Devanagari script.
