SDN Controller Network Load Balancing Approach for Cloud Computing Data Center

Existing SDN network only provides basic network functions, but load balancing is not well reflected in the system. To solve such problem, this paper takes the cloud data center as the research object, provides the overall framework of network load balancing based on SDN controller, and explains the role and relationship of each part. By analyzing the traffic characteristics of the data center network, we schedule elephant flows in combination with SDN and link load evaluation algorithm to reserve bandwidth for other flows. After modeling and analyzing it, a scheduling algorithm is used to calculate the re-routing, and to realize the load balance of link traffic. The simulation results show that when the network load is large, the improved scheme can effectively improve the network throughput, round-trip delay and average packet loss rate.
