Data Security and Privacy in Fog Computing Applications

Fog computing aims to get the Cloud closer to IoT devices to solve cloud computing problems when processing IoT data. It is a layer that sits between the Cloud and the computers. In addition to those inherited from cloud computing, Fog computing faces new security and privacy problems like cloud computing, but with specific differences. This chapter reviews previous research on fog computing applications to discover security flaws. This chapter also evaluates the effects of those security concerns and potential remedies, as well as ensuring future safety-related guidance to people responsible for maintaining, developing, and designing Fog systems. In this chapter, we have briefly discussed these challenges and the corresponding solutions. This chapter shall help for improving data security and privacy-related issues in the Fog computing-related applications.
