Multipath TCP (MPTCP) is made up of many TCP connections as individual sub-flow. It is implemented in the Linux kernel and derived from TCP. MPTCP has two control planes, data identified by data sequence number and connection identified by sub-flow sequence number. MPTCP transfers data using multiple sub-flows concurrently. This paper compares known schedulers of MPTCP with respect to throughput, download time, RTT, and bandwidth utilization parameters in a dynamic network environment.
