Development of Multipath Dynamic Address Routing Protocol in MANET to Improve Data Transfer in Poor Infrastructure Environment

Mobile Ad-hoc Networks are autonomous systems of mobile nodes that move within a variable topology and do not need a fixed infrastructure to operate. These networks provide communication services to many regions with poor infrastructures, such as developing countries devastated by war, earthquakes, or hurricanes. They also play a supporting role in assisting civil defense teams and refugees. These networks' nodes act as routers since routing protocols are responsible for routing, which may face considerable challenges due to the random movement of nodes within the network. That movement causes separation and instability of paths between nodes, rebuilding nodes' routing tables. This paper presents a new routing protocol called “ASPU”. It applies multi-interface and multi-channel to improve the performance of Multi-Path Dynamic Address Routing that uses Distributed Hash tables. The performance of the proposed protocol is evaluated using the NS-2.35 simulator, and the study has proven that the proposed protocol is considered the best solution in most of the simulation scenarios studied. This protocol has proven to be suitable for countries with poor infrastructures because it is practical and inexpensive, which provides effective feasibility.
